Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 27, 2026
Altamira Insurance Agency LLC ("Altamira," "we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard the information of visitors to www.altamirains.com (the "Site") and individuals who request insurance quotes, certificates, bonds, or related services from us. It also describes the rights of California residents under the California Consumer Privacy Act ("CCPA"), as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act ("CPRA"), and our compliance with the California Online Privacy Protection Act ("CalOPPA").
1. Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of personal information ("PI"):
- Identifiers — name, business name, email address, telephone number, postal address, IP address.
- Commercial information — type of business, contractor classification, estimated revenue, employee count, current insurance status, coverage interests.
- Internet/electronic activity — pages visited, referring URL, browser type, device information, and similar usage data collected through cookies and analytics.
- Geolocation data — approximate location derived from your IP address.
- Inferences drawn from the above to characterize your insurance needs.
We do not intentionally collect "sensitive personal information" (as defined under the CPRA), and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 16.
2. How We Collect It
- Directly from you when you submit a quote request, contact form, COI request, or bond application.
- Automatically when you browse the Site (cookies, pixels, log files, Google Analytics).
- From our insurance carriers, premium finance companies, and verification services as needed to issue or service a policy.
3. How We Use It
- To respond to inquiries and prepare insurance quotes, certificates, and bonds.
- To submit applications to insurance carriers on your behalf.
- To service, renew, and bill policies you have placed through us.
- To comply with legal, regulatory, and licensing obligations (including the California Department of Insurance).
- To measure and improve Site performance.
- To detect fraud and protect the security of our systems.
4. Who We Share It With
We disclose PI to:
- Insurance carriers and wholesalers — to obtain quotes and bind coverage (e.g., Hartford, Travelers, CNA, Hanover, Hiscox, Tokio Marine, biBERK, Blitz).
- Service providers — hosting (Netlify), email delivery (Resend), payment processing (ePayPolicy), agency management, and analytics (Google Analytics).
- Government and regulators — when required by law (e.g., California Department of Insurance, CSLB).
- Successors — in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
We do not sell your personal information for money. We may "share" limited identifiers and online activity with Google Analytics and similar advertising/analytics partners for cross-context behavioral advertising and measurement, which the CPRA treats as a form of "sharing." You can opt out at any time — see Section 7.
5. Cookies and Tracking
The Site uses strictly-necessary cookies for basic functionality and analytics cookies (Google Analytics 4) to understand how visitors use the Site. Analytics cookies are loaded under Google Consent Mode v2 with all storage defaulted to "denied." You may accept or reject non-essential cookies via the banner shown on your first visit, or change your decision at any time on the Your Privacy Choices page.
We honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signal as a valid opt-out of "sale" and "sharing" under the CPRA.
6. Data Retention
We retain PI only as long as necessary for the purposes described above and to comply with our legal, accounting, and regulatory obligations. Insurance application and policy records are typically retained for a minimum of five (5) years following the end of the policy term, consistent with California Department of Insurance recordkeeping requirements.
7. Your California Rights (CCPA / CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to:
- Know what categories and specific pieces of PI we have collected about you.
- Delete PI we have collected, subject to legal exceptions.
- Correct inaccurate PI we maintain about you.
- Opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of your PI for cross-context behavioral advertising.
- Limit use of sensitive PI (we do not collect sensitive PI for purposes that would trigger this right).
- Non-discrimination — we will not deny goods or services or charge different prices because you exercise these rights.
To exercise any of these rights, visit Your Privacy Choices, submit our contact form, or call (435) 272-8042. We will verify your identity (typically by matching information you provide against information already in our records) before responding, and we will respond within 45 days. You may also designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf.
8. Notice at Collection
At or before the point we collect PI through the Site (for example, on our quote, contact, and COI request forms), we provide this Privacy Policy as our Notice at Collection. The categories collected and the purposes for which they will be used are described in Sections 1–3 above. We do not use PI for any purpose materially different from those disclosed without first providing notice.
9. Do Not Track
Our Site does not respond to legacy browser "Do Not Track" signals because no common standard for that signal has been adopted. We do, however, honor the Global Privacy Control signal as described in Section 5.
10. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect PI against unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. Third-Party Sites
The Site contains links to third-party services (e.g., ePayPolicy for payments, Propeller for bond purchase). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those services. Please review their privacy policies before submitting information.
12. Insurance Information Privacy
As a California-licensed insurance producer (CA License No. 6017420), we also comply with the California Insurance Information and Privacy Protection Act (Cal. Ins. Code §§ 791 et seq.) regarding personal information collected in connection with insurance transactions.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be highlighted on the Site for at least 30 days.
